So yes, this bank is certifiably able to be a Linux package, even on distros like Trisquel that ONLY allow libre packages. Also, I have the bank on OpenGameArt for use in any games of the Liberated Pixel Cup variety, a game jam dedicated towards making FOSS games. This bank is also on other places besides this site, such as itch.io, OpenGameArt, IndieGameMusic, Archive.org, SourceForge, and others. And no, I didn't paywall the bank on ANY of the other sites it is on. I even point people to this site in the description to fulfill my CC-BY-SA4 obligations to attribute. *Available only in Virtual Midi Synth on Windows and Timidity++ using included CFG files.
QSynth in GS mode still won't recognize XG SFX in midis.

Version 1.75: (OPL I added OPL samples and fixed some looping within the samples.
Version 1.5: (I added some Drums, Waku Waku Sonic Patrol Car Samples, and a Orchestra Hit!)
I used Deflemask and Furnace Tracker for the samples, and Polyphone to make the soundfont.

Arachno SoundFont is a General MIDI-compliant bank of 128 instruments ("presets") and 9 GM/GS drumkits, aimed at enhancing the realism of your MIDI files and arrangements.
This bank includes many famous sounds from the best synthesizers by Roland (D-50, Sound Canvas...), Korg (M1, X5...), Yamaha (MU, Clavinova...), Fairlight (CMI), E-MU (Emulator), Ensoniq, and many others.

Believe it or not, there was a time when samsung made a cell phone that had a MIDI sound system similar to the FM synthesis of Sega Genesis. I had this model when I was younger and played a lot of Java games with that sound. I researched and found out that the motherboard is called PNX4908 made by ST Electronics.

Well here's yet another silly GM compatible soundfont made from an old sampler's samples. I'd been fiddling around with the Cyclone vst and made a soundfont for a nice piano sound I liked. After awhile I figured I might as well just dump in the whole kitchen sink. Still wouldn't say that this is the most usable soundfont for listening to midis or what have you, but it's miles about my CMI soundfont. Definitely has a mid-90s GM module sound to it.
