This libre SoundFont is a new fixed version of Micasddsa4000's Jummbox Soundfont, I, stgiga, fixed the pitch, OPL2 samples, modulators, and mappings, and also added Zandro Reveille's OPL3 drums (TheFatMan is part of the equation, including OPL2 booster drums too) (also William B. Santos's YM2612 and Piconica (free basic waveform synth tool of sorts) drums were used to boost the range again, followed by little-scale's and drunkenjesus's OPLL drums, resulting in a drum rang...

Extra considerations: BeepBox and JummBox are under The MIT License, and Zandro's OPL3 and OPL2 are under CC-BY-SA4, which is compatible with The MIT License (and GPLv3 as well, so you can use this SoundFont in anything GPL3-licensed. So yes, this bank is certifiably able to be a Linux package, even on distros like Trisquel that ONLY allow libre packages. Also, I have the bank on OpenGameArt for use in any games of the Liberated Pixel Cup variety, a game jam dedicated towards making FOSS games. This bank is also on other places besides this site, such as itch.io, OpenGameArt, IndieGameMusic, Archive.org, SourceForge, and others. And no, I didn't paywall the bank on ANY of the other sites it is on. I even point people to this site in the description to fulfill my CC-BY-SA4 obligations to attribute. I consider this SoundFont to be one of the best FOSS things I have done.) The William B. Santos stuff is Public Domain. OPLL stuff is libre. The Retro Player bank is under CC-BY 3.0.

Journey Guitarix Preset

by Sebastian Posch

Uploaded on Jan 20, 2016 (and last updated on Jan 20, 2016)

I decided to call this preset "Journey" because I was fooling around trying to get a guitar tone like in the Journey song "I'll be alright without you", just like my client requested. Typical bluesy 80's Fender sound. Then as it turns out, with a bit of Convolver and Delay the tone sounds quite like a "mystical" trip to me. So the name "Journey" still works in that situation :) This demo was played on my Epiphone Explorer with humbucker on the neck pickup. Generated wit...

Gritty Clean Preset

by lfz

Uploaded on Nov 01, 2015 (and last updated on Jul 02, 2016)

A Guitarix preset for a clean guitar sound with an edge of overdrive. Sounds awesome for clean leads, rhythmic passages and funky guitar stuff. Turn the plate reverb off if you want a more raw sound. EDIT: Updated with a version for Humbuckers and another one with a cleaner sound with a little more delay and reverb.

Deadhead preset

by lfz

Uploaded on Oct 31, 2015 (and last updated on Dec 30, 2015)

A guitarix preset for the song Deadhead by the canadian metal master Devin Townsend. It's very noisy and you should tweak the reverb and the delay to suit your needs. The original recording has lots of layers of guitars and reverb so this is not really a reproduction of that tone, just something you can use for fun and to build upon. Also my guitar and strings dont really suit this riff, but I've recorded the demo sounds anyway. It's also pretty good for lead sounds! In...

CalculatorSF GM

by stgiga, sleaf, Marcel J. Therrien, JS121, evnchn, [nowanonymous]

Uploaded on Apr 26, 2023 (and last updated on Apr 17, 2024)

Ask and you shall receive: A GM SoundFont by me, stgiga, of those musical calculators that was turned into an incomplete and non-GM SoundFont by evnchn on Github, but now including a drumkit (the Controller Click from Marcel J. Therrien's Gamer's Orchestra to represent calculator keypresses), and SFX (Pencil from JS121's SFX, to fit the math theme.) sleaf (maker of the old DSoundFont Ultimate and its much better successors Enchant! and ETERNAL!) helped fix the balance, whi...

This sub-7KiB GM soundfont works on all midi players. It uses a 9 sample filtered square wave for melody and a 118 sample filtered periodic Noise wave for drums and sfx. Also note that the square is 11025hz sample rate and the noise is 11025hz sample rate, meaning that one can use it in scenarios of the worst quality possible with no trouble whatsoever. The entire 127 samples of audio data could fit in the wave memory of the Namco 163 Famicom expansion sound chip when ALL ...
