This is intended to be an orchestral soundfont for GM (General MIDI), compiled from various other soundfonts. The reason being is that I couldn't find a decent orchestral GM soundfont (for my needs), so I decided to compile my own by carefully picking samples from other sources.
Feel free to use this for whatever you want to, but remember that these samples aren't mine, so it's all a grey area.
Update: Added 309 GS patches. The GM only version can still be downloaded fro...
And Maybe this will be the more light General Midi Compatible Not So Really Realistic String Ensemble that you can find, thanks to Bigsquid and Toru Inahama for helping with the waveforms

This soundfont has two velocity layers.
Sounds come from Versilian Studios.
Great for Mexican, Easy Listening, Classical, African, and Percussion music.
i do NOT own any of this..
i just wanted it to be on here.

The reason I published this here on Musical Artifacts is because it was originally an .sf3 file and .sf3's are compatible with such a small amount of things. The way I converted the thing was using Polyphone. I just loaded it, hit 'Save As...' and chose .sf2. It sounds just like the original with not much loss and I'm pretty happy with it.
