Sonatina Symphonic Orchestra is a free orchestral sample library. While not as advanced or ambitious in scope as commercial offerings, SSO contains all the basic building blocks for creating real virtual orchestrations. It's primarily aimed at beginners, but also more experienced composers looking for something lightweight and/or portable might find it useful.

Binaural Upright Piano

by Michael Picher

Uploaded on Sep 02, 2016 (and last updated on Dec 02, 2018)

Unlike other virtual pianos, this one will give you the sensation of sitting at the piano bench directly in front of the keys. This effect is best experienced when you wear headphones. Features include samples for when the damper pedal is both up and down, sampled releases, and even damper pedal sounds that all recorded binaurally from a playing position! >> IMPORTANT: If you want to be notified when a new version of this sample library is available, make sure you d...

The Ghent Carillon

by Soni Musicae

Uploaded on Aug 24, 2015 (and last updated on Dec 30, 2015)

This sf2 soundbank, called the Ghent Carillon, is made with free samples found on the following site: http://bimbam.be/EN/klokken.html They are mono but good sounding, and respect the resonance of the 54 bells, from B flat to F, on 4 octaves. The samples have been converted from mp3 to wave, and regularly disposed in space from left to right, using the pan adjustment in the soundfont with Vienna Soundfont. In this belfry, there are no bells for the B and the C sharp of t...

Extra considerations: The soundfont was created by Soni Musicae but the samples are free and come from Ghent (Belgium) city's clock and were made available by a non-profit organization. The original site is now dead (but is linked here and can be accessed via Internet Archive) so most of the uses here should be okay.

The Small Italian

by Soni Musicae

Uploaded on Aug 24, 2015

This is a soundbank of a harpsichord copied after an anonymous 17th century italian instrument. It has one manual, two 8' stops, plus a lute stop. It is suitable to play Renaissance and 17th century music. This soundbank is available in Kontakt 2 format, in its full version, and in sf2 format, but without release samples. For users of Hauptwerk, please go to Soni Musicae / Hauptwerk . The harpsichord has been tuned to A 415 Hz and to equal temperament. But, in order to ...

Stereo Rock Guitars (No Loop)

by Daindune

Uploaded on Feb 23, 2024 (and last updated on Feb 24, 2024)

This is probably the best overdriven and distorted electric guitar soundfont. The samples are recorded from Soundtrap, and the Classic Dist, and Overdrive effects have been added to a clean sounding electric guitar. Samples are stereo, but they are unfortunately not looped. if someone could loop these samples, I would appreciate it. Feel free to use these guitars in any of your soundfonts, and yes, they are General MIDI compatible.

T30-GP Grand Piano

by Simone Piervergili

Uploaded on Jun 02, 2023

This is a piano VST plugin sampled from a digital keyboard based on a Steinway Grand Piano, if I remember correctly. This one deserved a soundfont too!!! Recorded samples using LMMS as always.

Licensing Gray Area
These files have an unknown license, were obtained from unkown sources or were compiled from third party material.
Extra considerations: Samples from the plugin are recorded and exported to .WAV files using LMMS, and then arranged them into a soundfont, as always, just like I did with many other things like my custom presets from TripleOscillator, Monstro, LB302 and ZynAddSubFX plugins and all of the other VST plugins.
