Soundtrap Grand Piano

by Simone Piervergili

Uploaded on Jan 14, 2024 (and last updated on Jan 14, 2024)

This is the grand piano from Soundtrap, it sounds like a filtered version of the Keyzone Steinway piano or something, or maybe, they just took it from there and edited it. Anyway, just want to upload as an artifact, enjoy and credit me if used in any of your soundfonts. I guess this is a darker version of Keyzone Steinway piano, the original one is brighter. [UPDATE 1] Raised attenuation

IK Multimedia SampleTank 4 Berlin Grand Piano

by Simone Piervergili

Uploaded on Aug 17, 2023 (and last updated on Sep 30, 2023)

From SampleTank 4, this piano deserves a soundfont version as well! If it's from SampleTank 4, then, of course it's sampled, because the plugin's name is SampleTank 4 which has sampled instruments. Raised the volume of the second preset with no velocity layer, and renamed it as Bright.

This libre SoundFont is a new fixed version of Micasddsa4000's Jummbox Soundfont, I, stgiga, fixed the pitch, OPL2 samples, modulators, and mappings, and also added Zandro Reveille's OPL3 drums (TheFatMan is part of the equation, including OPL2 booster drums too) (also William B. Santos's YM2612 and Piconica (free basic waveform synth tool of sorts) drums were used to boost the range again, followed by little-scale's and drunkenjesus's OPLL drums, resulting in a drum rang...

Extra considerations: BeepBox and JummBox are under The MIT License, and Zandro's OPL3 and OPL2 are under CC-BY-SA4, which is compatible with The MIT License (and GPLv3 as well, so you can use this SoundFont in anything GPL3-licensed. So yes, this bank is certifiably able to be a Linux package, even on distros like Trisquel that ONLY allow libre packages. Also, I have the bank on OpenGameArt for use in any games of the Liberated Pixel Cup variety, a game jam dedicated towards making FOSS games. This bank is also on other places besides this site, such as itch.io, OpenGameArt, IndieGameMusic, Archive.org, SourceForge, and others. And no, I didn't paywall the bank on ANY of the other sites it is on. I even point people to this site in the description to fulfill my CC-BY-SA4 obligations to attribute. I consider this SoundFont to be one of the best FOSS things I have done.) The William B. Santos stuff is Public Domain. OPLL stuff is libre. The Retro Player bank is under CC-BY 3.0.

CWBF Magdalenian Conch

by Colin WB Foley

Uploaded on Feb 13, 2021 (and last updated on Feb 13, 2021)

I read the Ars Technica article about a conch shell that was used about 18000 years ago as a musical instrument: https://arstechnica.com/science/2021/02/listen-to-haunting-notes-from-an-18000-year-old-conch-shell-trumpet/. Happily, some researchers had recorded three very nice samples of the instrument. I went to the source (https://advances.sciencemag.org/content/7/7/eabe9510), downloaded the file, chopped it up into samples, fixed the tuning, and turned it into a soundf...

Casio CTK-230 SoundFont

by Dekyo Ongen

Uploaded on Jun 12, 2018 (and last updated on Dec 02, 2020)

This is a SoundFont of my Casio CTK-230. Months ago I started to make this SoundFont, only the piano presets. But on June 9 I started to continue it, and finally I completed it. I have sampled and also recreated the loop points in each sample, to save space and prevent this SoundFont from being large. There are some presets that I have not recreated because the envelopes that were used for those presets are not possible using the parameters that the SoundFont 2.1 format o...

This is a Japanese Fender Jaguar electric guitar played on the both pick-ups setting and is played through a Fender Bassman '59 Reissue with old valves in. This amp gives a really nice full clean sound. I have recorded it on the edge of break up so the low velocity samples come out clean and the high velocity samples come out with a bit of nataural power valve distortion. You can add more distortion with effects if you need it dirtier. It is hard to get this natural break ...
