The Ghent Carillon

by Soni Musicae

Uploaded on Aug 24, 2015 (and last updated on Dec 30, 2015)

This sf2 soundbank, called the Ghent Carillon, is made with free samples found on the following site: http://bimbam.be/EN/klokken.html They are mono but good sounding, and respect the resonance of the 54 bells, from B flat to F, on 4 octaves. The samples have been converted from mp3 to wave, and regularly disposed in space from left to right, using the pan adjustment in the soundfont with Vienna Soundfont. In this belfry, there are no bells for the B and the C sharp of t...

Extra considerations: The soundfont was created by Soni Musicae but the samples are free and come from Ghent (Belgium) city's clock and were made available by a non-profit organization. The original site is now dead (but is linked here and can be accessed via Internet Archive) so most of the uses here should be okay.

SampleSynthesis (an attempt to emulate/recreate toy keyboards and lo-fi retro sounds)

by Dekyo Ongen

Uploaded on Mar 05, 2018 (and last updated on Apr 10, 2021)

SampleSynthesis (beta version) is a SoundFont based on waveforms sampled from various sound sources. Note that "sound source" in my context refers to a sound generator software, not a public source of downloadable sounds. I made it to recreate electronic toys and more. (Specifically retro sounds). Features velocity layers in some presets, some of them are monophonic. I recommend use this SoundFont without sinc interpolation because it ruins loop points in the samples. No...

Casio CTK-230 SoundFont

by Dekyo Ongen

Uploaded on Jun 12, 2018 (and last updated on Dec 02, 2020)

This is a SoundFont of my Casio CTK-230. Months ago I started to make this SoundFont, only the piano presets. But on June 9 I started to continue it, and finally I completed it. I have sampled and also recreated the loop points in each sample, to save space and prevent this SoundFont from being large. There are some presets that I have not recreated because the envelopes that were used for those presets are not possible using the parameters that the SoundFont 2.1 format o...

HuC6280 Rhodes (A.K.A. Toy Rhodes)

by Dekyo Ongen

Uploaded on Mar 27, 2019 (and last updated on Jan 30, 2020)

This is a really tiny and experimental SoundFont that tries to imitate a Rhodes in a weird way, playing with overtones, using 3 samples that I've created with the HuC6280 sound chip. It features filter velocity, so if you play it with different intensities, the sound will change, like a piano or something similar. Give it a try! And as usual with my SoundFonts, please don't use sinc interpolation with it.
