CT-7000 (Retro Synth) [Free Version]

by Michael Picher

Uploaded on Mar 20, 2017 (and last updated on Dec 02, 2018)

If you need that musical sound from an 80s rock band or a Homestar Runner cartoon, this sample library could fit the bill! I built this virtual synth from samples, recorded using a vintage keyboard, that just appeared one day. When we were kids, my brother and I spent countless hours playing around with it. I even composed some of my very first melodies of music using this keyboard. >> IMPORTANT: If you want to be notified when a new version of this sample library...

Binaural Upright Piano

by Michael Picher

Uploaded on Sep 02, 2016 (and last updated on Dec 02, 2018)

Unlike other virtual pianos, this one will give you the sensation of sitting at the piano bench directly in front of the keys. This effect is best experienced when you wear headphones. Features include samples for when the damper pedal is both up and down, sampled releases, and even damper pedal sounds that all recorded binaurally from a playing position! >> IMPORTANT: If you want to be notified when a new version of this sample library is available, make sure you d...

by Alexander Holm / Signal Experiments

Uploaded on Nov 11, 2017 (and last updated on Nov 11, 2017)

A phase aligned version of the famous Salamander Grand Piano. Using velocity crossfading to simulate intermediate velocity layers, the original gigabyte library has been reduced to 389 MB (238 for the 44.1kHz version). From the original 16 velocity layers, 3 were selected then phase aligned. Furthermore, the SFZ library has also been re-tuned using the Entropy Piano Tuner. Have you ever wanted the cheesy-sounding MIDI instruments that's been bundled with every Microsoft operating system since 1996? Now you can, no matter what platform you're on! Now you can mix general MIDI instruments with whatever-the-hell else you have in your soundfont folder.gm.dls ripped straight from System32 and converted to sf2.

Xylo Piano 1.1 (SFZ)

by Michael Picher

Uploaded on Feb 11, 2017 (and last updated on Nov 30, 2018)

This sound library is sampled from a toy that has two modes, which are obviously "Piano" and "Xylophone". You can access these modes via key switches. I made this virtual instrument so that is played back exactly like the original toy, right down to the quirk that necessitates that you press the keys down with a bit of force, in order for the hammer to hit the bells. If you don't, then you'll just hear the keys flailing and no tone. This is a great oddity to add amongst ...

Introducing Version 2.0!! SFZ Format Pulse (3 variants), Triangle, and Noise waves Simple keyboard layout "Legato" effect Vibrato, tremolo, slide (portamento), attack, and release controls The goal, when designing "8-Bit Chip", was to create something that was friendly to a musician, rather than a programer. Traditionally, 8-Bit music is created in what can be described as a spreadsheet-like environment, where pitches and effects are coded one at a time. My idea was ...
