Early Woodwinds 0.7 (DEMO)

by L.S Barros

Uploaded on Jan 12, 2024 (and last updated on Jan 15, 2024)

This soundfont is a Early Music, Renaissance and Baroque period Soundfont. It haves instruments from that period. [Currentely] The instruments included are: Cornett (Expressive only), Rackett 1, Rackett 2, Dulcian, Bass Dulcian, Crumhorn 1, Crumhorn 2, Tenor Crumhorn, Oboe da Caccia. Because this is a demo the quality is a bit low, but it will increase in the next versions. The amount of instruments will also grow.

MakeMusic Finale GM soundfont

by MakeMusic

Uploaded on Dec 28, 2023 (and last updated on Dec 29, 2023)

For those people (like me) who wishes/wished the GUS had reverb and chorus effects. A rip on the presumed final version of Advanced Gravis's Pro Patches Lite "expansion" for its Ultrasound lineup of cards. Recorded with the original bundled software under an emulated Windows 95 installation. Some of the sounds were taken from other professional synths (eg. Roland Sound Canvas).

Melodic Cuica Soundfont

by Sizz Tuna

Uploaded on Jul 04, 2023 (and last updated on Jul 05, 2023)

A melodic cuica soundfont created to help somebody out with a Checker Dance arrangement. Made by pitching the mute cuica sound from the Musescore 3 general soundfont up and down in Audacity, and then stitching the samples together in Polyphone.

Extra considerations: I'm not the best at reading legal jargon, but the gist I'm going for is that if you create and upload a modified version of this soundfont, it must also be free for people to use and you must reference back to this one as the original. If you wanna use this soundfont in any music projects, however, you're free to do so without any attribution to me, and can copyright your music however you'd like.

CalculatorSF GM

Uploaded on Apr 26, 2023 (and last updated on Apr 17, 2024)

Ask and you shall receive: A GM SoundFont by me, stgiga, of those musical calculators that was turned into an incomplete and non-GM SoundFont by evnchn on Github, but now including a drumkit (the Controller Click from Marcel J. Therrien's Gamer's Orchestra to represent calculator keypresses), and SFX (Pencil from JS121's SFX, to fit the math theme.) sleaf (maker of the old DSoundFont Ultimate and its much better successors Enchant! and ETERNAL!) helped fix the balance, whi...

This libre SoundFont is a new fixed version of Micasddsa4000's Jummbox Soundfont, I, stgiga, fixed the pitch, OPL2 samples, modulators, and mappings, and also added Zandro Reveille's OPL3 drums (TheFatMan is part of the equation, including OPL2 booster drums too) (also William B. Santos's YM2612 and Piconica (free basic waveform synth tool of sorts) drums were used to boost the range again, followed by little-scale's and drunkenjesus's OPLL drums, resulting in a drum rang...

Extra considerations: BeepBox and JummBox are under The MIT License, and Zandro's OPL3 and OPL2 are under CC-BY-SA4, which is compatible with The MIT License (and GPLv3 as well, so you can use this SoundFont in anything GPL3-licensed. So yes, this bank is certifiably able to be a Linux package, even on distros like Trisquel that ONLY allow libre packages. Also, I have the bank on OpenGameArt for use in any games of the Liberated Pixel Cup variety, a game jam dedicated towards making FOSS games. This bank is also on other places besides this site, such as itch.io, OpenGameArt, IndieGameMusic, Archive.org, SourceForge, and others. And no, I didn't paywall the bank on ANY of the other sites it is on. I even point people to this site in the description to fulfill my CC-BY-SA4 obligations to attribute. I consider this SoundFont to be one of the best FOSS things I have done.) The William B. Santos stuff is Public Domain. OPLL stuff is libre. The Retro Player bank is under CC-BY 3.0.
