Slender Salamander Grand Piano (44 kHz 16 bit)

by Alexander Holm / Signal Experiments

Uploaded on Nov 11, 2017 (and last updated on Nov 11, 2017)

A phase aligned version of the famous Salamander Grand Piano. Using velocity crossfading to simulate intermediate velocity layers, the original gigabyte library has been reduced to 389 MB (238 for the 44.1kHz version). From the original 16 velocity layers, 3 were selected then phase aligned. Furthermore, the SFZ library has also been re-tuned using the Entropy Piano Tuner. A tiny experimental piano sample library! Demo: https://soundcloud.com/sig-ex/sets/tiny-piano-00 More info: https://sig-ex.com/2016/07/24/experimental-piano-00-sfz/ Artificial stereo panning and looping of long notes makes the over all sample library just 10.8mb without sacrificing number of samples, thus avoiding overstretching pitches. For an even tinier (2.8MB) ogg version see: https://musical-artifacts.com/artifacts/403 Use with Plogue Sforzando, or other SFZ com...

Deep Bass (based on pasta bass)

by j_e_f_f_g

This electric bass has a pronounced pick attack. This helps cut through a rock mix where you have lots of bass-heavy distorted guitar "power chords". My version differs from the original source in that mine is stereo, looped, has some noise removed, and includes a "legato mode" mapping.

D. Smolken's multi-sampled double bass (aka contrabass)

by DSmolken

Uploaded on Aug 29, 2015 (and last updated on Dec 27, 2015)

DSmolken at the KVR Audio Forum posted about sampling his acoustic double bass (aka contrabass) and how to best use the samples. Two primary sets of samples are provided - arco (that's bowed) and pizz (plucked) - with the addition of various "noises". If you check out his performance video, on YouTube, you might see what these might be used for... also the start of the demos below. Arco is 5 velocity layers with 2 round robins, pizz is 3 velocity layers with 3-4 round rob...

Extra considerations: I want it to be reusable including letting other people make better mappings, or an EQed and normalized version or whatever, and reuse it in other sample libraries.

Introduction This is a synthesized Soundfont, made specifically for Soundfont-based soundcards. Most preferably, the SBLive! The Gameboy waveforms consist of small-wave-use, to make strange-like sounds. In this case, Gameboy-rather. My source is included, in case you want to continue it from the version you used last. It's in Audio Compositor format the source, so keep in mind, that if you run AC with it, make sure to map the wave files required, to the sample library. :...
