Alex's gm soundfont version 1.3

by High quality sfs

Uploaded on Dec 01, 2020 (and last updated on May 23, 2021)

Description This is a gm soundfont I made because I didn't like the sound of the most popular soundfonts I tried. It's meant to sound as live as possible. I tried it with acoustic jazz, country and rock music and it sounds very good, even though I have to fix some things. Please let me know what do you think in the comments and report any bugs or problems. Also suggest me some improvements I can make to this to make it sound as live as possible, while keeping the size be...

HiDef (my 4GiB Roland SC-88Pro SoundFont)

by stgiga, et. al. (check my Weebly)

I'm stgiga, and here's my 4GiB Roland SC-88Pro soundfont from my Weebly but in a better place. This SF2 was made when I was, in essence, a 15-16yo trans girl (I'm now nonbinary, 21yo, and use they/them). It even supports the XG mode. This was initially sampled by EmperorGriefus. Here, I have added some additional drum kits and drum sounds from SC-88/88pro/8820 plus the set of MT-32 patches the original SC-55 module was supposed to offer at Bank no.127. I made several additional tweaks to lower the file size by noticing actual loop points heard in longer samples. The modulation effects lost in this trimming process are then recovered by doing the math at parameter sections with reference to Roland's ori...

This sub-7KiB GM soundfont works on all midi players. It uses a 9 sample filtered square wave for melody and a 118 sample filtered periodic Noise wave for drums and sfx. Also note that the square is 11025hz sample rate and the noise is 11025hz sample rate, meaning that one can use it in scenarios of the worst quality possible with no trouble whatsoever. The entire 127 samples of audio data could fit in the wave memory of the Namco 163 Famicom expansion sound chip when ALL ...
