Atari 2600 GM Bank

by stgiga, little-scale, drunkenjesus, akwf, Gashisoft, Zandro Reveille

Uploaded on Jul 11, 2019 (and last updated on Apr 17, 2024)

This is a GM bank based on Atari 2600 that uses period accurate samples to reproduce GM tunes as if made on Atari 2600. It uses distortion 3 and distortion 15 plus the bassy wave to span all 128 keys with a note. The drums are AY/YM noise with some overdrive like on Sunsoft 5B mixer. The GM melodic bank sound effects use Ricoh 2A03 noise from the NES. This makes up most of the bank along with the pitching of Atari's 32 pitches recorded from hardware. I, stgiga balanced and...

This sub-7KiB GM soundfont works on all midi players. It uses a 9 sample filtered square wave for melody and a 118 sample filtered periodic Noise wave for drums and sfx. Also note that the square is 11025hz sample rate and the noise is 11025hz sample rate, meaning that one can use it in scenarios of the worst quality possible with no trouble whatsoever. The entire 127 samples of audio data could fit in the wave memory of the Namco 163 Famicom expansion sound chip when ALL ...

CalculatorSF GM

Uploaded on Apr 26, 2023 (and last updated on Apr 17, 2024)

Ask and you shall receive: A GM SoundFont by me, stgiga, of those musical calculators that was turned into an incomplete and non-GM SoundFont by evnchn on Github, but now including a drumkit (the Controller Click from Marcel J. Therrien's Gamer's Orchestra to represent calculator keypresses), and SFX (Pencil from JS121's SFX, to fit the math theme.) sleaf (maker of the old DSoundFont Ultimate and its much better successors Enchant! and ETERNAL!) helped fix the balance, whi...

Casio CTK-230 SoundFont

by Dekyo Ongen

Uploaded on Jun 12, 2018 (and last updated on Dec 02, 2020)

This is a SoundFont of my Casio CTK-230. Months ago I started to make this SoundFont, only the piano presets. But on June 9 I started to continue it, and finally I completed it. I have sampled and also recreated the loop points in each sample, to save space and prevent this SoundFont from being large. There are some presets that I have not recreated because the envelopes that were used for those presets are not possible using the parameters that the SoundFont 2.1 format o...

FM tone nº 101 from EFFEC.FF

by Dekyo Ongen

Uploaded on Nov 07, 2019 (and last updated on Oct 11, 2020)

Another experimental mini-project. It just is a very small SoundFont that tries to recreate a 4-op FM tone data, which uses the detune parameter (DT). Found in the "EFFEC.FF" FM tone data bank from KAJA's PMD sound driver. I know there's already various SoundFonts with this sound but I tried to recreate it my way. It doesn't sound 100% perfect, but doesn't sound bad either. I think it sounds very decent. It includes two variants, a monophonic and a polyphonic preset. ...

Extra considerations: FM sound driver "P.M.D." (C) by Masahiro Kajihara (KAJA). FMPMD2000 FMP & PMD Music Player (including PMDWin and FMPWin playback libraries) (C) by C60. FM sound generator engine "fmgen" (C) by cisc. Note to people who make SoundFonts. If you wish to add this preset to your SoundFont and you share it, please give credit. Thank you!

HuC6280 Rhodes (A.K.A. Toy Rhodes)

by Dekyo Ongen

Uploaded on Mar 27, 2019 (and last updated on Jan 30, 2020)

This is a really tiny and experimental SoundFont that tries to imitate a Rhodes in a weird way, playing with overtones, using 3 samples that I've created with the HuC6280 sound chip. It features filter velocity, so if you play it with different intensities, the sound will change, like a piano or something similar. Give it a try! And as usual with my SoundFonts, please don't use sinc interpolation with it.
