This has been a little teensy project for my own use for a while, but I figured I'd put it out there because I've been wanting to for ages. Around 2016-2017, I'd found a soundfont that contained the instruments from both Mega Man X and X2, something I'd been looking for quite a bit. But I realized early on in using it that it wasn't all that good, with various samples being out of tune or even out of key. I hadn't had access to a computer to fix it at the time, despite the dire urge to do so.
5 or so years later, this effort to retune the darn thing has been pretty successful I think. It definitely sounds much better than when I first got my hands on it, and the organization of the instruments is also far different. Notably, the instruments for both games are put into one bank, rather than splitting them into two banks. This makes it easier for you to just plug it into any old soundfont player and fiddle around with it. (I should know, that's how I've been using it for all this time.)
Here's some clarification about both files. The "Lil Sumn Sumn" version is the main one I've worked on, which contains instruments with little ADSR (is that the term? idk) applied to them. The instruments start, then stop, save for a few. In addition, I've placed both kits in the last two preset slots, just in case. The "Lotta Sumn Sumn" is the version with ADSR for most instruments. These particular presets come from the"SNES MMX music creation pack" by ViLXDRYAD (a link to which I can't seem to find). That's pretty much the only distinction... except that maybe the instruments aren't tuned exactly as the other soundfont is. Not sure. I've got a good ear, but not the best.
Anyways, that's that! If I figure out anything else I need to add, I'll do my best to add it. Otherwise, thanks for checking this out!
