Just made a small chiptune-ish SoundFont. It is based on a modern ZX Spectrum 48K sound routine by utz, features 32 rough and gritty 1-bit waveforms plus 4 rudimentary drum sounds. Resembles early Atari stuff. May come handy for your DAW-powered chiptune endeavors.

wtbeep is a ZX Spectrum 48K beeper music engine developed by utz in 2016. In short, this computer from 1982 lacked any sound hardware besides the speaker connected directly to an I/O port, and all sound had to be generated by the main CPU. Synthesizer programs that produced sounds are called engines, they all has different features and sounds.

wtbeep is one of the most advanced top notch sound developments (within the platform limitations), featuring three channels, each capable to play one of 32 generated 1-bit waveforms. They're harsh and scratchy, resembling some of early Atari stuff. Very diverse set of characteristic sounds, worth to sample.

It has been sampled using an emulator, the engine was modded to remove the usual carrier tone hiss, but the original roughness of the sound has been kept intact.
