Sonatina Symphonic Orchestra

by Mattias Westlund

Uploaded on Aug 10, 2015 (and last updated on Dec 28, 2015)

Sonatina Symphonic Orchestra is a free orchestral sample library. While not as advanced or ambitious in scope as commercial offerings, SSO contains all the basic building blocks for creating real virtual orchestrations. It's primarily aimed at beginners, but also more experienced composers looking for something lightweight and/or portable might find it useful.

CT-7000 (Retro Synth) [Free Version]

by Michael Picher

Uploaded on Mar 20, 2017 (and last updated on Apr 04, 2024)

If you need that musical sound from an 80s rock band or a Homestar Runner cartoon, this sample library could fit the bill! I built this virtual synth from samples, recorded using a vintage keyboard, that just appeared one day. When we were kids, my brother and I spent countless hours playing around with it. I even composed some of my very first melodies of music using this keyboard. >> IMPORTANT: If you want to be notified when a new version of this sample library...

Cookie Run: Ovenbreak Soundfont (.zip, includes SF2 & DLS)

Haven't seen an easily accessible link for these anywhere else, so figured I would post this here. Other installments of Cookie Run typically use mp3s/wavs for their tracks - however, curiously, Ovenbreak uses strictly midi. Extra considerations: It may be safest not to use this in anything you will make money off of without contacting Devsisters first. However, nonprofit fanworks (and haha funny meme rips) may be alright, as I have seen them used with no issues.

SuperSponge (PSX) Soundfont

The game itself is only occasionally fun, but the music is consistently stellar. A majority of it is to do with 4matt's exquisite composition skill, but another small part of it is owed to his excellent sample selection. Three years ago, SaladPlainZone directed me to the Development Archive for the game. Through it, I pored over all the game's .xm tracker files, extracting each and every sample. Over the course of two weeks I crafted, in several parts, what would become m...
