Phase Aligned Grand Piano from SSO

by Signal Experiments / Mattias Westlund

Uploaded on Apr 13, 2017 (and last updated on Apr 14, 2017)

An update to the Grand Piano included in the Mattias Westlund's Sonatina Symphonic Orchestra. The velocity layers are phase aligned, allowing smoother dynamic transitions via velocity crossfading, which in turn makes the piano more expressive.

CT-7000 (Retro Synth) [Free Version]

by Michael Picher

Uploaded on Mar 20, 2017 (and last updated on Apr 04, 2024)

If you need that musical sound from an 80s rock band or a Homestar Runner cartoon, this sample library could fit the bill! I built this virtual synth from samples, recorded using a vintage keyboard, that just appeared one day. When we were kids, my brother and I spent countless hours playing around with it. I even composed some of my very first melodies of music using this keyboard. >> IMPORTANT: If you want to be notified when a new version of this sample library...

by Michael Picher

Uploaded on Feb 11, 2017 (and last updated on Nov 30, 2018)

I made this virtual instrument so that is played back exactly like the original toy, right down to the quirk that necessitates that you press the keys down with a bit of force, in order for the hammer to hit the bells. If you don't, then you'll just hear the keys flailing and no tone. This is a great oddity to add amongst ...

Internet musician Cuckoo taped his piano, sampled it and made an SFZ soundfont. All the notes have been sampled with 3 different velocity layers. As for the sound it ranges from a really light mellow harp-like tone on lower velocities to a very sharp tone with higher velocities, really interesting. The original version uses aiff samples but it did not play well with some of the SFZ players I used, so I made a flac and a wav version. This is the WAV. Link to the FLAC vers...

Tiny Piano 00 (SFZ)

Uploaded on Jul 24, 2016 (and last updated on Jul 25, 2016)

A tiny experimental piano sample library! Demo: https://soundcloud.com/sig-ex/sets/tiny-piano-00 More info: https://sig-ex.com/2016/07/24/experimental-piano-00-sfz/ Artificial stereo panning and looping of long notes makes the over all sample library just 10.8mb without sacrificing number of samples, thus avoiding overstretching pitches. For an even tinier (2.8MB) ogg version see: https://musical-artifacts.com/artifacts/403 Use with Plogue Sforzando, or other SFZ com...
